Echo is a 5-year-old Malinois with the Medicine Lodge Police Department in Medicine Lodge, KS. He is energetic on duty and affectionate when not working, especially enjoying play with children—he lives with three children and treats any ball, from a tennis ball to a basketball, as playtime. In cold weather he naps in his insulated, heated dog house, and his favorite "toy" is whatever his handler throws; he will play with anything offered, including a bite suit or sleeve. As a team, Echo and his handler have attended extensive advanced training, including the K9 Olympics in Indiana three times, a Criminal Patrol class through Code 2 K9, SKIDDS/CATS training, and many hours of maintenance training with NPCA.
