Luka is a dog with a very unique temperament. He is extremely friendly, but he can also be very aggressive. Our trainers have stated they have never seen another dog with the same level of friendliness and aggressiveness combined.
Luka has several favorite toys. He loves his black Kong and enjoys tearing apart balls of string. His favorite items, however, are tires that we buy specifically for him. He will chew on them for long periods of time.
Luka has extremely high energy and must be exercised every day. If he does not get enough physical activity, he becomes very upset and difficult to manage.Luka has located approximately three pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. Although he has not yet received any awards, his cousin was recognized as Top Dog for the State of Ohio. Luka comes from an exceptional lineage, with relatives demonstrating similar levels of both aggression and sociability.
Luka has not had any documented bites; however, he has successfully caused numerous suspects to surrender without the need for physical contact.
While assisting the City of Geneva last year, officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a male operating a UTV. The suspect fled into a wooded area after crashing the UTV and resisted officers when they attempted to take him into custody. Officers deployed their tasers twice, but the suspect continued to fight through the effects. When an officer drew a firearm, the suspect turned and fled deeper into the woods on foot.
Officers pursued the suspect into a heavily wooded area. Upon my arrival at the wood line, I was unaware of the direction the officers and suspect had traveled. Without being given a command or direction, Luka immediately took off and tracked directly toward the suspect and the officers.
When the suspect heard Luka approaching and barking, he stopped fleeing, surrendered, and allowed officers to place him in handcuffs without further resistance.
