Kai is a German Shepard serving as a multipurpose patrol dog with the Sidney Police Department in Sidney, Ohio. He’s trained in narcotic detection, tracking, apprehension, obedience, article searches, and building and area searches for persons. Kai is his handler’s first K9—the handler has wanted to be a K9 handler since becoming a cop and seeing the tremendous work they do—and has impressed his handler daily with eagerness to improve and train. Off duty, Kai is a toy fiend who loves playing with his handler’s two personal dogs and tug-of-war, and he’s exceptionally adventurous, exploring areas, paths, hills, and water sources with enthusiasm.
