Juneau is a German Shepherd K9 with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (Virginia), certified in Narcotics Detection, Tracking, and Article Searches. Her handler purchased Juneau as a puppy and trained her, and following a change in leadership at their previous department she was brought on as the first K9 at the Pulaski Police Department in over 20 years. Juneau conducts narcotics detection, tracking, and article searches, with many successful narcotics deployments and multiple tracks, including locating a subject in the woods who committed suicide the day before. She regularly attends community events—school visits and Touch‑a‑Truck—and lives at home with her handler and three human siblings, playing with and watching over them.
