When she’s off duty, our police K9 enjoys being a dog just as much as she enjoys working.
She loves playing with any type of ball, especially her narcotics find ball, which remains her favorite toy even when she’s off the clock. During the summer months, she can often be found stretched out in the sun, soaking up the warmth. In the winter, she’s happiest playing and rolling in the snow for hours at a time.
One of her favorite activities is when my 5-year-old son hides her toys around the yard so she can search for and find them. It keeps her sharp while letting her have fun doing what she naturally loves.
When she’s inside, she enjoys relaxing on the couch, getting tummy rubs, and chewing on a bone. At the end of the day, she settles comfortably into her indoor kennel for a good night’s sleep, ready to go back to work when called upon.K9 Channy – In Service Since May 2025
