Gator is a Half Dutch / Half Malinois who serves on full patrol with the Avery County Sheriff's Office. He is both a working K9 and a family pet, known for being a protector at home as well as a steady presence on duty. Off duty Gator enjoys simply being a dog—playing with the handler’s female German Shepherd and spending time with his grandchildren. His mix of dependable patrol work and warm home life makes Gator a cherished member of the department’s team and his family.
