K9 Zayn is a 3 year old Dutch Shepherd bred and raised in Santa Clara County, California. Zayn was partnered with his handler, Officer Alejandro Maravilla, at just 13 months old as his introduction into policing through the San Pablo Police Department.
Zayn comes from a law enforcement family with his father and brother also serving as police K9's for the Campbell Police Department and New York State Troopers.
Zayn has been a great addition to the San Pablo Police Department and to Officer Maravilla's family. K9 Zayn has proven his worth with an exceptional work history including multiple apprehension, surrenders, and with locating and removing multiple automatic firearms from the streets of San Pablo.
Zayn is an extremely social dog, wo enjoys going to school events, conducting public K9 demonstrations and working patrol.
Zayn is known throughout the San Pablo Police Department as being goofy, loyal, riven, intelligent and fearless. Zayn is the perfect blend of friendly and tenacious, holding the ability quickly switch between the two as needed.
