Rex is a German Shepherd serving as a patrol K9 with Redford Twp. As a patrol dog, he conducts narcotics detection, apprehension, and search and rescue work. What sets Rex apart is his intelligence — "one of the smartest dogs I've ever trained" — which helps him learn quickly and perform under pressure. Off duty, Rex is all energy and affection: he absolutely loves ball and tug time with his dad, where he switches from professional partner to playful companion in an instant.
