Maverick is a 3-year-old German Shepherd assigned to the West Sacramento Police Department, serving in suspect apprehension and explosive/firearm detection. On duty he works closely with his patrol team, where he stands out for his enthusiasm and teamwork—Maverick lives to play with his handler and brings focus and energy to every shift. Off-duty he is a devoted companion who loves to swim and lounge around the house, enjoying downtime at home. Maverick’s temperament and versatility make him a valued member of the West Sacramento Police Department .
