Gizmo

$1,200.00 still needed

Gizmo is a high-energy, driven K9 who’s just as enthusiastic off-duty as he is on the job. When he’s not working, he loves playing fetch and tearing around the yard, especially if his Jolley ball or favorite tug toy is involved. He’ll proudly parade those toys around like trophies, daring anyone to try and take them. Gizmo also enjoys exploring the outdoors—whether it’s hiking, swimming, or sniffing out every interesting scent along the way.

True to his name, he’s a lovable menace just like the mischievous creature from Gremlins. Off-duty, you might catch him zooming through the house with his Jolley ball, initiating an unplanned game of tug, or scheming playful chaos. But when it’s time to work, he flips the switch, focused, reliable, and ready to perform. At home, his softer side shines through as he soaks up belly rubs, leans in for ear scratches, and sticks close to his family. He might keep everyone on their toes, but that’s exactly why we love him.Gizmo and I have been partnered for 8 months and, on June 12th, 2025, we successfully graduated from both Narcotics Detection School and Patrol School.

Throughout my career, I have been honored with multiple awards and commendations, including several Life Saving Awards, Unit Citations, Citizen Commendations, and two Medals of Merit—one of which was earned following an officer-involved shooting that saved the lives of a mother and her two children. I have also been recognized as Employee of the Month multiple times.

Prior to becoming a K9 handler, I served in the Special Victims Unit as a child crimes detective, where I received multiple Unit Citations and additional Employee of the Month awards for my work investigating and resolving sensitive, high-impact cases. These experiences have shaped my commitment to serving the community and prepared me for the demands and responsibilities of K9 work alongside Gizmo.
