K9 Duke is a 2.5 year old Labrador retriever from Washington state. Duke has been certified in detection of firearms, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. K9 Duke is primarily working in the K-12 schools in the city of Lathrop ensuring safety for all students and staff.
K9 Duke also assists patrol and detectives on the street with detection. In just over a year at the department, K9 Duke has taken nearly a dozen firearms off the streets along with multiple narcotics seizures. Off duty, K9 Duke enjoys playing outside with his handler's three young children.
