Coda, nickname "Pickles" or "Coda-man," is a 3 year old Mal with tons of personality. From work to home he quickly toggles from fur missile to a happy little goofball. At work and training he is brave and unwavering in the face of any adversary. What he lacks in size, he makes up for in tenacity. His best friend is my retired K9 Zeke. Every day when I get home from work, Coda is greeted by Zeke at the door and the two play until they both eventually fall asleep, practically snuggling. Coda, despite being very suspicious and protective toward new people, is very sweet on my wife. In fact, she sometimes spoils him with couch time.
Coda has a love for the hunt and really enjoys tracking/trailing people. His favorite toy is a sleeve or bite suit, but a close second would be a ball & rope or tug. Coda's funniest feature is his tail, which wags up and down unlike other dogs.Coda has certified two years in a row in patrol and narcotics through the National Police Canine Association (NPCA). Coda's summer is off to a good start. He recently tracked and located 3 different suspects within about a week time span, two were from the same vehicle.
